If you’ve built a website yourself or are managing your own website you probably know that having a website and making sure that website comes up in Google is not the same thing. You know there is work to do but you don’t know where to start. We get it. It’s a huge and overwhelming subject.
If you are looking for guidance relating on where to start, this course is for you!
The contents of this course focus on the main issues I’ve observed when reviewing many small business websites. In this session we’ll go over the quick wins and also help you to focus on a few manageable tasks that can make a huge difference to your online presence.
You will come away with the confidence to start working on your site’s SEO, information on tools that can help you get started, and a to-do list (or two) to keep you focussed and moving forward.
This workshop typically takes 2-3 hours, depending on the level of interaction.
Course Topics
We will look at SEO essentials including:
- Local SEO – how to make sure your site is found by people looking the product or service you provide within your local area
- Technical SEO – some site essentials that can easily be rectified by a DIYer.
- Content SEO – thinking about content you create and how that relates to your services and ideal client.
- Links – how these benefit your site and where to get them.
You’ll be introduced to the concepts of E-A-T, which stands for Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trustworthiness and concerns how Google ranks your site, and (my own invention of) C-A-K-E, which stands for Clear, Accessible, Knowledgeable, and Easy to Read and concerns how you relate to your ideal client once you get them to your site.
In addition you receive:
- A workbook with information about useful tools to help you with SEO and some worksheets to guide you;
- A free copy of my SEO Essentials Checklist (available to buy in my Etsy shop);
There will be opportunities for Q&A throughout the session.
As this is a relatively short session covering a very dense topic there won’t be time for any hands-on task, unfortunately. If you are looking for more in-depth help you should sign up for my 8-week SEO Masterclass.
